Travis J.D. Potts is a Law Clerk at Achkar Law who supports the firm’s litigation practice across employment, workplace, and housing disputes. He works alongside our lawyers to move files forward from intake through to resolution.
If you are dealing with a workplace issue, it is important to get advice early.
Travis is involved at every procedural stage of a litigation file, from early fact investigation and legal research to drafting and organizing pleadings and productions, preparing affidavits of documents, and getting parties and witnesses ready for examinations for discovery, mediations, and hearings. His background in criminology and housing matters, including direct experience with the Residential Tenancies Act and Landlord and Tenant Board proceedings, gives him a practical understanding of how disputes move through a tribunal or court process.
He earned his Honours degree in Criminology and Sociology from the University of Windsor and has worked with the Criminal Justice System, Housing Information Services, and the John Howard Society’s bail supervision program. That grounding shapes his commitment to access to justice and his ability to communicate with clients clearly and without jargon as their matter progresses.
Outside of work, Travis is an avid sports fan who enjoys playing basketball, tennis, and golf, and is a dedicated supporter of the Detroit Red Wings. He also enjoys travelling, trying new restaurants with friends, and pursuing his passion for aviation, holding a Private Pilot’s Licence (PPL).
