Nicholas Marchesan

Associate Lawyer


Nicholas Marchesan is an Associate Lawyer at Achkar Law who advises and represents clients across a broad range of workplace and labour matters. Drawing on his earlier career as a Human Resources Manager in both unionized and non-unionized workplaces, he understands the operational realities behind the legal issues that arise in the workplace and brings that perspective to every file.

Nicholas’ interest in employment and labour law took root during his undergraduate studies in Labour Studies. After completing a Master of Industrial Relations and Human Resources, he joined an international transportation company as a Human Resources Manager, where he worked alongside company counsel on collective bargaining negotiations, workplace investigations, and terminations, and managed progressive discipline and human rights accommodation. That experience led him to law school and now informs the practical advice he offers clients.

He works with clients on matters involving dismissals and severance, employment and contractor agreements, workplace investigations, human rights, workplace policies, and labour and employment compliance.

Outside the office, Nicholas enjoys ice hockey, camping, and kayaking.
