Jamaal Julien
Associate | Employment & Human Rights Lawyer
Jamaal Julien is an employment and human rights lawyer at Achkar Law, which advises and represents employers across Ontario and British Columbia. He helps employers with the practical side of the employment relationship, from employment contracts and agreements to terminations, dismissals, and layoffs, along with the human rights and harassment issues that surface at work. Jamaal also represents employees, which gives him a clear read on how workplace disputes unfold from both sides.
Jamaal earned his LL.B. (Hons) in International Commercial Law and Arbitration from Brunel University in London. He has been called to the bar in Ontario and Nova Scotia.
He is a member of Pro Bono Ontario, a non-profit that provides free legal services to people with non-family and non-criminal matters who do not qualify for legal aid.
Jamaal believes it pays to get advice early, before a workplace issue grows, and he focuses on giving clients clear, practical guidance on where they stand and what their options are.
Outside the office, Jamaal enjoys cooking and baking, spending time with his wife and family, following football, and collecting comic books and sports memorabilia.
