Alexandra Maddeaux

Associate Employment Lawyer

Alexandra Maddeaux is an Associate Employment Lawyer at Achkar Law, with a practice focused on employment law. She represents clients in employment litigation, including wrongful and constructive dismissal, terminations and layoffs, human rights, and workplace harassment and discrimination, and she also acts on a range of corporate and commercial disputes. Alexandra has a diversified background in litigation, which includes family, criminal, and international law disputes.

Alexandra obtained her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School, where she oversaw the operations of the school’s Intellectual Property clinic, drafted legal articles for one of the school’s online journals, and completed an internship at the United Nations’ International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals. She also participated in the Walsh Family Law Moot and the International Criminal Court Moot, placing second and third respectively.

Prior to law school, Alexandra completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Legal Studies at Carleton University. She went on to work with an Ottawa NGO as a project coordinator of social and political media campaigns, and with a clinical psychology practice, where she focused on the application of legislation relating to health information access and privacy, third party insurance disputes, and academic and employment rights.

In her free time, Alexandra enjoys travelling, skydiving, and scuba diving.
