Filip Pejovic
Partner | Employment & Labour Lawyer
Filip Pejovic is a Partner at Achkar Law who advises and represents employers across the full range of workplace and labour matters. He helps organizations manage and resolve issues involving terminations, severance, employment contracts, workplace investigations, human rights and harassment complaints, and labour relations.
Filip’s interest in employment and labour law began while volunteering to organize campaigns for a student labour studies society, where he developed an early understanding of workplace dynamics. He brings that grounding to a practical, employer-focused approach, helping clients act decisively while managing legal and reputational risk.
Filip works with employers on proactive measures and contested matters alike, from drafting and reviewing employment agreements and workplace policies to defending claims, conducting workplace investigations, and responding to union activity and collective bargaining.
His reported and tribunal experience spans every stage of a matter. He acted as counsel for an employee in Aden v. Toronto (City), 2024 HRTO 339, successfully resisting a summary hearing; defended an employer in a union certification in Teamsters Local Union No. 230 v. Henderson Construction; and was counsel on a successful intervenor motion before the Court of Appeal in Baker v. Van Dolder’s Home Team Inc., 2025 ONCA 829.
While he is prepared to advocate firmly when a matter is contested, Filip looks for practical resolutions that protect his clients’ operations and broader objectives, combining clear communication with tailored strategy.
Outside the office, Filip enjoys walking, basketball, chess, and following the Boston Red Sox, including an annual trip to Boston to cheer them on. Something clients are often surprised to learn is that he completed eight grades of practical piano.
