Jemma Paynter
Jemma Paynter is a Law Clerk at Achkar Law who supports clients across employment, litigation, and workplace matters, working alongside our lawyers from the first review of a file through to its resolution.

Originally from Northern Ireland, she holds a First Class Honours LLB and an LLM in Human Rights and Transitional Justice, and completed the Federation of Law Societies of Canada National Accreditation Program to have her international qualifications recognized here. With more than 14 years of combined legal experience across Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, she brings a well-rounded perspective to every file she touches.
She works closely with lawyers and clients at every stage of litigation, from early investigation and legal research through to preparing parties for discoveries, mediations, and arbitrations. Her focus is making sure files are thorough, deadlines are met, and clients feel supported and informed as their matter moves forward.
Outside the office, Jemma enjoys travelling, exploring new places, and getting home to Northern Ireland to visit family and enjoy a few favourite home comforts.
